Fulao2 the EAB Department

The Equity, Achievement, and Belonging (EAB) Department supports BUSD’s efforts to transform the conditions contributing to equity gaps experienced by Berkeley students and families. The EAB Department supports initiatives and programs across the following areas:

• Universal Equity Programs: Support for district-wide equity-focused programming including Equity Teacher Leaders (ETLs), culturally and linguistically responsive and inclusive practices, and equity leadership practices.
• Targeted Equity Programs: Support for equity programs prioritizing identified focal populations (Black/African American students and Spanish-speaking Latinx students) to eliminate equity gaps they experience.

• Office of Family Engagement and Equity (OFEE): Support for family and community engagement with a focus on addressing inequities experienced by BUSD families.
• Diversity and Belonging: Support for lifting up the voices, histories, and experiences of marginalized populations, celebrating the diversity of the Berkeley community, and improving the sense of belonging and cultural affirmation of students with marginalized identities.
